Overview
Your privacy matters to us. It is AskSadhu's policy to respect your privacy and to comply with applicable laws and regulations regarding any personal information we collect about you across asksadhu.com and the services we operate. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, how it is handled, and the choices you have. Where our site links to third-party sites or services, those have their own policies, and this policy does not apply once you leave our site.
What we collect
We collect only what a reading needs. Information you provide directly includes the name and date of birth of the people in the reading, an optional birth time, the photograph or photographs you upload, the email address where your reading is delivered, and anything you choose to include when you contact us. We do not create accounts, we do not ask for a password, and we do not request a phone number or other details a reading does not require.
Information collected automatically
When you visit our site, our servers may automatically record standard technical data sent by your browser, such as your IP address, browser type and version, the pages you visit, and the date and time of your visit. We use this limited log data to operate the service, keep it secure, and prevent fraud and abuse. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
Photographs and sensitive information
The photographs you upload may be considered sensitive personal information in some regions. We collect and use them only with your consent, solely to prepare your reading. We do not use your photographs to identify you, we do not use them to train artificial intelligence models, and we never sell them. If you do not wish to provide a photograph, please do not place an order, as a reading cannot be prepared without one.
How your photographs are used
Photographs are used solely to prepare your reading. They are checked and processed by our AI provider for that purpose only, stored privately, and deleted one day after your reading completes. If a reading is never completed, the photographs you uploaded are deleted on the same schedule. The written reading itself remains available at your private link.
Payment information
Payments are processed entirely by Stripe. Your card details never touch our servers, and we store only the payment references needed to support your purchase and meet our record-keeping obligations.
How and why we use your information
We use your information to deliver the reading you requested, to personalize it from the details you provide, to communicate with you about your order, to respond to support requests, to keep the service secure and prevent fraud, and to meet legal obligations. We rely on your consent and on the need to perform the service you asked for, together with our legitimate interest in operating a safe and reliable service and complying with the law.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the service providers who help us operate, each bound to handle it confidentially and only on our instructions: Stripe for payment processing, our AI provider (OpenAI) for processing images and text to generate your reading, Mailgun for delivering email, and our hosting provider for running the service. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect our rights, and as part of a merger, acquisition, or other business transfer, in which case we will let you know.
International transfers
We operate from Thailand, and some of our service providers operate in the United States and other countries. Your information may therefore be stored or processed outside your own country. Where that happens, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in line with this policy and applicable law.
How long we keep your information
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described here or as required by law. Photographs are deleted on the schedule above. Your written reading stays available at your private link until that link expires. Records needed for accounting, tax, or legal reasons are kept for as long as the law requires.
How we protect your information
We protect your personal information using commercially reasonable technical and organizational measures. No method of electronic transmission or storage is ever completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please keep your private reading link confidential, since anyone who has it can view your reading.
Children's privacy
AskSadhu is intended for adults. Our services are not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact contact@asksadhu.com and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to request its deletion, to object to or restrict certain processing, to opt out of marketing messages, and to complain to your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact contact@asksadhu.com.
Your reading is private
Readings live at an unguessable private link that only you receive. Reading pages are excluded from search engines and are never published or shared by us.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page, and any changes take effect once published.
